Reliable digital preoperative planning starts with suitable imaging. Complete anatomical coverage, standardized projection, visible reference structures and traceable calibration are essential.
Calibration
For X-ray based planning, a calibration reference with known diameter is important. A suitable marker should be positioned as close as possible to the relevant anatomical level and remain fully visible. The exact marker size should be documented.
Image quality
The relevant anatomy must be fully visible. Rotation errors, cropped landmarks, unclear projections or overlapping markers can make digital planning more difficult. DICOM data should be preferred whenever available.
Data minimization
Only data required for processing should be transferred. Additional documents may be useful, but unnecessary personal information should be avoided.
Upload
Transfer takes place securely through My OrthoMetiQ. Radiological image data, PDF documents and supporting files are supported according to the portal upload requirements.
